“Why do you need project history and the contracts?”

The reason we ask for contracts is to have a better understanding of the exact scope of work that is performed during replacement of a certain component. Sometimes, the cost provided is different than our typical estimates due to additional prep work, upgraded materials, etc., so the contract tells a clearer picture of what actually took place. If you would rather not provide that information, we would note the file and if questions arise as to how we came up with the pricing, we will need to reveal that we used the prices provided without knowing the scope, or we used our database figures. We have found that the report is more accurate and a better tool for the community when the contract information is provided. Please understand, it is possible the report may not be as accurate as it would be if we had the actual contracts.
